Projects |
Pangea
produced a host of fascinating media projects over the past year
for old and new clients. We produced a heartwarming, institutional
video, "You've Got a Friend," for the Mental Health
Association of Southwest Ohio, which created a compelling atmosphere
at the nonprofit organization's fundraising breakfast.
Our production team also produced a public education video about
the Dose Reconstruction program for The National Institute for
Occupation Safety and Health. This project drew upon the considerable
skills of the NIOSH staff for a personal, precise look at the science
and procedures behind a complex federal compensation program.
Pangea is recording more and more oral history video projects
for individuals, families and organizations. These personal, emotional
projects are rewarding to everyone dedicated to the preservation
of life stories for future generations.
Our production team is thrilled to hear that "Voices &
Values," continues to motivate the diverse constituents of
Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region. Hosted by actress
Allison Janney (West Wing), "Voices & Values" was
shot by Beth Fowler on Digital Beta and edited at red echo post,
Cincinnati.

"Voices & Values" video |
Pangea
recently produced a powerful institutional video for Planned Parenthood
Southwest Ohio Region. Hosted by actress Allison Janney (West Wing),
"Voices & Values" features staff members, advocates
and actors who present core value statements about the nonprofit
organization's mission and services. The video has generated fresh
enthusiasm and strong support from screenings at several regional
events, according to Barbara Rabkin, Chief Development Officer,
Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region. "Voices & Values"
will be incorporated into the organization's educational, marketing
and fundraising activities. Numerous affiliates across the nation
are requesting copies for their own institutional campaigns.
"Voices & Values" was shot on Digital Beta before
a studio green screen. Pangea's production team included Tom Law
(writer/producer), Frank O'Farrell (creative), Julia Piercey (director),
Beth Fowler (DP) and Jim Merkl (audio). John McDaniel of Sonic Arts
Digital Audio Services supplied the cool music. The talented staff
of red echo post provided superb graphics and editing. We thank
the entire production team for creating an engaging video with a
clean, contemporary visual style.

Archaeology book |
Ohio
Archaeology reflects the archaeological renaissance of the region,
and it sets a high standard for presentation that every publisher
should seek in books produced for the general public. It is an important
step in rebuilding a grand archaeological tradition in a state where
much of American archaeology got its start.
-- Mark Michel, President, The Archaeological Conservancy.
That's one of many positive reviews for Ohio Archaeology: An Illustrated
Chronicle of Ohio's Ancient American Indian Cultures, a 300-page,
coffee-table-style book released in 2005 by Voyageur and publisher
Orange Frazer Press, Inc. Tom Law, Project Director, Ohio Archaeology
says, "Ohio Archaeology fills a void of current, accessible
materials about the ancient American Indian cultures that flourished
in the state for over 12,000 years."
Author Dr. Bradley T. Lepper, Curator of Archaeology, The Ohio Historical
Society, presents the story of Ohio prehistory in a clear, compelling
style. Dr. Lepper's main narrative is complimented by 23 feature
contributed by top regional scholars about new archaeological discoveries
and investigations. Ohio Archaeology also includes over 340 illustrations,
ranging from original artworks, maps and timelines to archival and
contemporary photographs. Voyageur and Orange Frazer Press worked
with a team of scholars, writers, photographers and graphic designers
to create this landmark resource for readers, teachers and students.
The book is one of four components in the Ohio Archaeology project,
a comprehensive educational effort that involves scholars from most
of Ohio's archaeological and educational institutions. The Ohio
Archaeology project features four integrated media components: the
"Ancient Ohio" art series (completed), the Ohio Archaeology
book (completed), an educational website (target for release winter
2006), and a three hour public television documentary series (target
for release fall 2006).
